What it looks like in practice
Katy Young went all in. Her practice transformed.

“Sending a demand letter before Legion was expensive for the client and the settlement likelihood was only about 50%. Now that I use Legion to include a fully drafted complaint with the first demand letter, it is cheaper for the client and the settlement likelihood has increased to 90%.”
Katy is Managing Partner of Ad Astra Law Group, P.C. in San Francisco. A year ago her firm was hollowed out – her eighth-year associate poached, two partners and two paralegals out the door. Instead of rehiring, she rebuilt the practice around Legion.
Her remaining team was senior – 20 to 40 years of experience, billing $550 to $700 an hour. Putting them on first drafts didn’t pencil, and hiring a new associate mid-transition didn’t either.
So she handed first drafts to Legion. Complaints she used to spend two days on now ship in about two and a half hours. A 40-set discovery push that would have taken two weeks of associate time? Two days, 950 requests, done.
Lower per-matter bills meant a price point her core clients – small and mid-sized businesses, individuals – could actually afford. Word spread. The book grew. Her collection rate climbed alongside the new pipeline.
A year later, here’s where Katy is at.

Here’s why Katy trusts us with her practice.

We owe you a product built by someone who still does the work.
I’m Arthur Rothrock, and I still litigate. There’s a case on my docket right now that won’t die, and I work it the same weeks I work on Legion.
Real cases drive the roadmap. The features I want for my own practice are the features you want for yours. Practicing while I build is how we keep getting the priorities right and the product moving forward every week.
That means you get a platform that understands California litigation practice like no other platform available. The document you get back is on nicely formatted pleading paper. You don’t have to explain that requests for admission and special interrogatories can’t be compound (most of the time). When you have a lot of them, we know you need a counsel declaration for additional discovery, and Legion drafts that automatically too. If your brief is over ten pages, we know it needs a TOC and TOA, and Legion builds both for you.
I was an early adopter of AI. It is a hugely powerful tool. But I was frustrated with the limitations of the chatbot interface, and even more frustrated with how poorly implemented AI has been from the major players. I tell my team that any time I leave Legion to use some other AI, that is a failure of our product. We are here to deliver a platform that will make you never want to practice law the old-fashioned way again.
“I was an AI Grinch and had been completely unimpressed by the legal tech I tried. Legion changed that.”
We owe you and your client ironclad protections.
Here are some of the people whose expertise shapes how Legion approaches your client’s information and your work product.

We owe you the latest edge, not last year’s tech.
We have shipped support for fourteen production workflows for California litigators since March 2025. A new release roughly every four weeks.
Pleadings, motions, discovery, supporting declarations, exhibit-packaged filing PDFs. And now Centurion, an AI legal analyst that sits next to your draft and runs strategic review across complaints, answers, and discovery.
The frontier of AI moves every few months, and we move with it. We are constantly evaluating the newest models from OpenAI, Anthropic, and everyone else so you don’t have to. The moment a better model is available for the job, we route to it. You never have to wonder whether your vendor is running you on last year’s tech.
Slow shipping is a tax on your practice. The longer a vendor sits on an old model, the longer you lose to opposing counsel who picked a vendor that didn’t. Picking Legion is picking the team that ships every month, on a cadence your competitors can’t match.
“Their tools take entire days off the early drafting process and let our lawyers focus on refining documents rather than reinventing the wheel each time.”

We owe you a real person when you need us.
Nobody likes being delegated to an AI. Especially not under the gun with a filing deadline. We pick up the phone at 11pm on a Friday. We answer the support chat on a holiday. Being a litigator is not a 9-to-5 job. You need a team that doesn’t clock out before you do. A team in the trenches with you.
We also love walking people through the platform. Every month brings new tools, and the best way to learn what is now possible on the matter in front of you is to spend twenty minutes with one of us on a call. Bring questions about a workflow you haven’t tried yet, or one that shipped last week. We are happy to sit down and show you how it works on a real file.
“The Legion platform allows my clients to have access to my full suite of services much more efficiently and without sacrificing quality.”
Best model per workflow
Each draft routes to the frontier model strongest on the task.
Hallucination guardrails
Constrain the model against imagined facts and fabricated cases.
Ruthless context discipline
The model only sees what it needs for the task — no noise, no drift.
Case law, never a guess
Proprietary California case-law databases for specialized workflows; bring-your-own for general ones.
Automated fact and citation verification, ahead of your review.
In-app legal research – surface case law and answer issues without leaving your draft.
Nobody can honestly promise zero hallucinations or citations you can ship without checking. We don’t either.
We owe you confidence in Legion’s output.
No AI platform should be promising output entirely free of hallucination. The technology isn’t there yet. What matters is keeping the major hallucinations – fabricated cases, made-up holdings, imagined facts – in check.
Four things keep them in check on Legion. We route every workflow to whichever frontier model is strongest for that task, so the best brain available is on your draft. We constrain the model against fabricating cases and imagining facts at the prompt and validation layers. We practice ruthless context window management – the model only sees what it needs for the task at hand, never noise from elsewhere in the file. And our case-law sourcing is built per workflow – never left to the model’s training data.
For specialized tools like our discovery separate statement builder, Legion draws on a proprietary database of California case law curated for that workflow. For more general tools like our memorandum of points and authorities builder, we recommend you do your own research and feed Legion the three to five cases you want it to rely on.
This is good, but it’s not good enough. We’re working on Sentinel – our fact and citation verification system – and continuing to build out Centurion to assist with your legal research right in the app at the time of drafting. The goal: a quick once-over instead of hours of review, and a draft you can trust when you’re in a jam. We’ll tell you when each one lands.
One good lawyer can make a difference.
We make sure they do.
