Legion Introduces Centurion, an AI Legal Analyst That Sits Alongside Every Draft
New dual-panel experience moves Legion beyond document generation into real-time strategic analysis across Complaints, Answers, and Discovery
SAN JOSE, Calif. — April 21, 2026 — Legion today introduced Centurion, an AI legal analyst built directly into the Legion platform that reviews a draft in real time and offers one-click strategic analysis backed by legal research. Centurion is available across three of Legion's most-used workflows – Complaints, Answers, and Discovery – and represents the company's first product that moves beyond document generation and into live case analysis.
Centurion sits in a panel alongside the draft. As an attorney works, Centurion runs targeted analytics on what is on the page and surfaces issues the attorney might otherwise miss – the kind of feedback a senior associate would provide if one were looking over the attorney's shoulder. Each workflow has its own set of analytics, tailored to the strategic questions that arise at that stage of litigation.
On the Answer workflow, Centurion is focused on affirmative defense planning. It suggests additional defenses the facts support, flags defenses vulnerable to a motion to strike with an element-by-element analysis, maps the burden of proof and the discovery needed to support each defense, identifies waiver risk for defenses that must be pleaded now or lost forever, and shows which of the plaintiff's claims each defense actually defeats. On the Complaint workflow, Centurion runs demurrer risk analysis element by element, audits every available damages theory against each cause of action, checks statute of limitations, accrual, and tolling arguments, screens for federal preemption and privilege bars, and verifies that the right plaintiffs and defendants are named. On the Discovery workflows – Requests for Production, Requests for Admission, and Special Interrogatories – Centurion performs gap analysis against the elements of each cause of action, tightens requests so they are harder to object to, flags duplicates, suggests better organization by cause of action or topic, and surfaces discovery topics common to the case type that the attorney may not have thought to ask for.
Centurion is not a separate product or an add-on – it is built into the workflows that Legion customers already use. Every analysis runs against the attorney's own draft and the case materials the attorney has uploaded, and the output is grounded in authorities the attorney can review and cite.
“Centurion is the first thing we have built that does not just draft a document – it thinks about the document. It is like having a senior associate looking over your shoulder saying, you are missing a defense here, or this discovery request is going to get objected to, let me tighten it up. That is a fundamentally different experience from generation, and it is where this platform is going.”
Centurion is live today for all Legion customers on the Complaint, Answer, and Discovery workflows. Support for additional document types will roll out through the second half of 2026.
